The Compass journey continues with the embedding of the Becare journey we started 6 years ago.
The Bekaert participants of the Compass journey (plant managers, (S)VP operations) are extremely satisfied with the next step in developing their knowledge and skills, their understanding of the SH&E matters for which they are accountable.
The Compass journey contributes in developing health & safety as a core value, and to bring and keep H&S at the attention and responsibility of senior leadership in the company.
Several of the participants immediately requested to have a similar program built for site operational leadership (production mgrs., maintenance mgrs., project mgrs.), which is currently under development.

The Elevation Leadership and Learning Journey was designed for first-time managers to develop essential skills and habits for leading people at Bekaert.
The organization-wide leadership initiative continues in small cohorts learning together about topics such as coaching, performance and change management.
World of Insights has supported the journey by facilitating online workshops, training internal facilitators and developing a hybrid toolbox with physical learning games and digital resources online.

Flipping a majority of the content delivery online has enabled the participants to study independently in their own rhythym, creating more space for dialogue, peer sharing and practise in live workshops.
Not a single training on the learning journeys has been a traditional slideshow delivery. Active learning has empowered the participants to share best practices and put learning into action.

Using digital and physical tools has allowed learners at Bekaert to activate their own knowledge and develop a playful dimension to take learning much beyond the classroom.
